Staff from HSBC in the Midlands have more than trebled a target to raise £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer support in one month.
They exceeded all expectations and ended up handing over a cheque for £34,000 to the charity after a bumper fundraising month in June.
The money was raised by HSBC employees throughout 201 branches through quiz nights, sponsored cycles, sitting in a bath of baked beans, and culminating in a pirates day.
Plans are now in place for HSBC to take part in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, on September 24.
This is a special year for the annual event, with it being in its 20th year and predicted to bring in over £8 million nationally, helping change the lives of people affected by cancer.
