Home improvements company Anglian has ordered 40 Maxus vans with a showroom value of more than #750,000 from Birmingham manufacturer LDV.

Anglian, which sells products ranging from double glazing to conservatories, has ordered the 3.5 tonne vehicles as part of its fleet replacement programme.

The company said it needed versatile and spacious vans to handle its extensive product range.

The long wheel-base, extra high roof, vans will transport window and door units across the UK. The vehicles are fitted with external glass frails for over-sized glazing panels.

Michael Shepherd, Anglian Windows fleet manager, said the company has bought LDV vans before, including the now-defunct Convoy model.

"Nationally we operate a fleet of 1,700 vehicles. With an annual turnover of #300 million it's paramount the vehicles are durable and reliable.

"We know from experience their dealer network is the best in the business.

"LDV's professional service and factory backup has made the fleet transition effortless."
