A Midlands insulation firm has hit the acquisitions trail.
Hodgson and Hodgson Group has bought Salex Acoustic Materials from Well-man Engineering for an undisclosed sum.
Salex, based in Braintree, Essex, supplies acoustic components to specialist-vehicle manufacturers.
It has around 50 employees and turnover approaching £3 million.
Glynne Balshaw-Jones, chairman, of Hodgson and Hodgson, said: "The Salex business complements our existing group operations supplying acoustic and thermal insulation solutions and brings with it additional technologies."
Hodgson and Hodgson has its head office in Burton-on-Trent and bases in Northwich, Melton Mowbray, Braintree, Hadleigh, Corby, High Wycombe, Spennymoor and Wakefield. Its sister company Acoustic Design Consultants is based in Hadleigh, employing 300 people with a £21 million turnover.
Over the last decade the group's business has been strengthened and expanded by the acquisition of a number of companies. These include Nevill Thompson Insulation, Albion Insulation, Ecomax Acoustics, Acoustic Design, EDC Acoustic Engineering, the Noisco Group, Noise Control Products, Noise Control Centre, Anti Sonics and most recently Salex Acoustic Materials.
