A 72-bedroom hotel in the picturesque village of Himley, near Dudley, which was originally a 19th Century school house, is being offered for sale.
Himley Country Hotel occupies a site area of approximately 1.75 acres, with car parking facilities for approximately 80 vehicles and was sympathetically extended by the landlords approximately 20 years ago.
All the bedrooms have en suite facilities and there is also a large reception area, a lounge bar, a 120-cover restaurant, three function/conference rooms and a three-bedroom owner’s flat.
Gavin Wright, from Christie & Co’s Birmingham Office, who is handling the sale, said; “The property was first extended back in 1987 by the landlords to provide 36 bedrooms and then again five years later when another 40 bedrooms were added.
“Four of the bedrooms are currently utilised as office/meeting rooms. The hotel holds a civil ceremony licence and is ideal for weddings, family events and celebrations.”
Christie & Co is seeking an asking price of £3.5 million for the freehold or £50,000 for the leasehold interest.
