Developing closer relationships with the corporate finance, business and banking fraternity is a key objective for Higgs & Sons' latest recruit.
Damian Beard, aged 30, has joined the firm's corporate department as an associate after previously occupying a similar role at George Green.
He will be based at the firm's Brierley Hill office.
This latest appointment means that Higgs & Sons' corporate team is now one of the largest in the West Midlands.
Speaking of his appointment, Mr Beard said: "I am excited about coming to a vibrant firm like Higgs & Sons and am looking forward to working with the team to help further expand the department.
"On a personal level, I am keen to work on the transactional side of the business and to continue to develop our on-going relationships with the local business, banking and corporate finance community."
He studied at Wolverhampton University and gained commercial experience whilst working as a graduate trainee at accountants KPMG.
Senior partner Ian Shovlin said: "Damian comes to us with a great deal of experience. His previous roles at KPMG and George Green have furnished him with a great commercial awareness and he will be a major asset to the department and the firm as a whole."
Mr Beard's wife of two months Kerry is herself about to qualify as a solicitor.
