A Black Country law firm has helped raise more than £3,400 for a cancer charity with its annual quiz night.

Forty six teams made up of Higgs & Sons staff, clients and fellow professionals gathered at The Venue in Dudley to raise the sum for the Paul Ackrill Fund, which helps people with cancer under the age of 30.

The firm’s annual quiz raises thousands of pounds each year for good causes.

Gill Ackrill from the charity said: “We are extremely grateful to the 46 teams of local businesses and professionals who took the time to attend and test their knowledge at this thoroughly enjoyable and successful event. It will ensure our charity will continue through 2013, with all money raised going to young cancer patients.”
