Higgs & Sons has appointed two employment law specialists to strengthen the department as it launches a new initiative for Black Country businesses.

Debra Cottam, aged 32, has joined the firm's Brierley Hill branch as an associate solicitor where she will be helping and advising clients on every aspect of employment law, both contentious and non-contentious.

Kam Bains, aged 34, arrives as a human resources consultant. His role will primarily involve working on the firm's new fixed fee Human Resources Service, an initiative which offers local employers a package of advice and assistance on a monthly deal.

Ms Cottam said: "It is the quality of Higgs & Sons' work which first attracted me to the firm. I am looking forward to helping build up and expand the employment department even further."

Mr Bains, who lives in Walsall, was most recently at Croner Consulting in Leicester. He said: "I am delighted to be joining Higgs & Sons as it launches its Human Resources Service. I am looking forward to helping it develop as a successful initiative for local businesses. Reaction so far indicates that it is going to be very popular."
