An address on how Midlands industry can use marketing to tackle the challenges it faces is set to be given by Lord Heseltine in Birmingham this week.
He will be speaking as president of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) at the organisation's 2005 Midlands marketing dinner at Villa Park.
Andrew Davison, chairman of the West Midlands regional board of The CIM, said: "The climate of industry in the Midlands has been unstable over the past two decades with the fall- out from the onslaught of lower-cost production in overseas markets and the restructuring of the automotive and 'potteries' sectors."
Lord Heseltine's topic will be How Marketing can help Tackle the Challenges Facing Industry in the Midlands.
The event takes place at the Trinity Suite, Aston Villa Football Club, on Thursday, starting at 7.30pm for 8pm.
It will cost CIM members and students £ 40; nonmembers £50 and tables of eight cost £45 per person.
