Worcestershire combustion specialist Nu-way has entered the renewable heating sector with a new range of products for the domestic and commercial market.

The company, which previously specialised in high efficiency burners for the building services and process manufacturing markets, has launched a new range of renewable products.

Instead of using oil or gas, the heaters which are used to warm offices, the company has launched a range of environmentally friendly boilers. One acts as a heat pump to draw natural heat from the ground and convert it to heat the home, while another boiler is fuelled by wood pellets.

The heat pump works by extracting low temperature heat from the surrounding air and a fan then forces the air over a finned evaporator unit. This in turn collects the energy and transfers it to the heating system. Nu-way, which employs 114 people, is part of the Enertech group and along with the renewable range, manufactures a wide variety of burners and combustion equipment for the heating and process industries.

In conjunction with the new products, Nu-way has invested #20,000 on a renewable energy training centre at its Droitwich headquarters. The modern facility comprises lecture rooms plus installed, fully operational equipment which provides delegates with the opportunity to obtain practical, hands on technical and installation experience.

James Sopwith, managing director for Nu-way, said: "We believe our new renewable range offers the very latest in green heating technology for use in domestic and commercial situations. We've drawn upon our experience of more than 70 years in the heating and combustion sector to develop these exciting products and believe we can provide a total renewable service with our products, training offering and knowledge.

"The significant investment in our training centre underlines our commitment to the renewable energy sector and we are looking forward to establishing partnerships with heating engineers and installers to provide the end customer with efficient and sustainable energy solutions for the 21st Century."

The company, with an annual turnover of #12 million, says the heat pump and biomass boiler course offers in depth theory and background of renewable technology and the new product range.

It covers not only installation but also all of the technical aspects required for sizing and setting up the product.
