Distributor Headlam has acquired the retail division of Gaskell Flooring's Gaskell Wool Rich and Tomkinson Carpets for £425,000.
Gaskell Wool Rich and Tomkinson Carpets are suppliers of residential carpets to independent floorcovering retailers in the UK.
Headlam, which is based in Coleshill, bought the residential arm of the company, which is based in Accrington, from administrators Kroll after it collapsed last week.
In line with Headlam's strategy the businesses will operate autonomously and be relocated to its new distribution centre in Tamworth.
Steve Wilson, group finance director at Headlam, said: "Our idea in the UK is to have a variety of different brands selling into the market. There will be some overlap, but Gaskell is a big name."
