A Midland law firm has continued its rapid growth with the acquisition of another firm - the fourth in the last three years.

Birmingham firm Young & Lee, based at The Wharf in Bridge Street, has joined HCB, which now has eight offices throughout the region.

Its operations include Solihull, Lichfield, Walsall, Sutton Coldfield, Redditch, Alcester and Stratford-upon-Avon.

Besides offering legal services in corporate, commercial and personal law, Young & Lee specialise in law for dentists in such areas as dental partnerships and disputes, as well as the purchase and sale of practices.

It currently has five directors and five legal assistants, who will all be staying with the firm under its new title of HCB Solicitors, Young & Lee.

Mike Gahan, chief executive of HCB, which has its head office in Solihull, said: “Young & Lee fits well into our large programme of legal services and builds on our corporate and commercial city lawyers strong base.

“It has always been our ethos for each of our departments to be expertly peopled by city-trained lawyers and Young & Lee adds to that.

“We see this as another move to bring customer focus back into the legal profession by giving our clients what they are looking for at a time that suits them.

“Birmingham is a major centre for the legal profession and it is fitting that such a large group as ours should have a presence at its core.”

The acquisition comes at the same time as HCB has launched a major initiative with Age Concern Birmingham to provide 10 minutes free advice on any legal matter to those who use the charity’s services.

An HCB team of experts in commercial and personal legal matters mans a dedicated phone line to advise older people on the best course of action to take on issues affecting them.
