A Coventry-based IT firm has acquired a Leicestershire company as it continues to expand across the region.

Harry Shaw Business Computers, which has offices in Binley and Bedworth, has taken over Leicester firm Twynham & Davey.

The deal has immediately taken Harry Shaw's client base to more than 250 stretching across the Midlands including Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire.

John Shaw, director of Harry Shaw Business Computers, said it was a sign of the company's ambition to continue to grow organically and by acquisition.

He said: "The computer business was set up around six years ago and has gone from strength to strength.

"For many companies across the area we are now seen as an extension of their own business as we provide the same complete IT support package that an in-house IT team would supply.

"But we are always looking to grow and as soon as we saw this opportunity with Twynham & Davey we acted straight away.

"It is a great move for Harry Shaw Business Computers and will further cement our place as one of the strongest IT support firms across the region."

The acquisition will see further jobs created by Harry Shaw Business Computers, which counts organisations such as CV One among its clients.

The company also has a tie-in with Nottinghamshire-based McLellan Software Design, where the two firms share expertise and contacts to bolster business.

Mr Shaw added: "IT is not a marketplace that allows anyone to standstill. As soon as you do that, someone comes along with a new idea and suddenly takes over.

"That is why it is so crucial to get ahead of the game and we believe this acquisition along with our strong ties to Nottingham will continue our success."
