This new website, launched with the help of Midlands consultancy Market Link PR, has attracted a staggering 16,500 hits within 24 hours of going live.
The portal - greenandeasy.co.uk - was set up to offer a simple way of finding "green" products and services, with sections dedicated to everything from green weddings and green funerals, to greener gardening, environmentally friendly kitchen appliances, sustainable wood products, greener electricity, and even the most environmentally aware investments, mortgages and loans.
Website founders, Herefordshire couple Jackie and David Smethurst, were amazed by the amount of interest their site has already received.
Mr Smethhurst said: "We've spent months getting our website up and running so obviously we wanted to announce its launch to as many people as possible but we didn't expect the number of visits to our site to be so high at this early stage.
"In the first week, we'e had more than 500 visitors and it's really encouraging that they are tending to stay in the site and have a good look around, generating hits on individual web pages as they go.
"An unexpected number of people have already registered with the site and entered our competition, we've had some excellent feedback from the suppliers we are currently working with and we've also been approached by new suppliers expressing an interest in collaborating with us. We couldn't have wished for a more successful launch."
Market Link PR director, Steve Paddock, also said: "As soon as the site went live we issued a general news release announcing the launch to regional newspapers and radio stations across the country as well as more specific stories targeting a variety of relevant consumer magazines. We may never know exactly how many of these media have made use of our story but the feedback we've had from Jackie and David so far has been extremely positive.
"Within just a few days of the story being issued, David was interviewed on B BC Three Counties Radio. House & Home Ideas magazine is planning to do a mini profile on Jackie."
