The Birmingham office of Grant Thornton were among businesses that helped raise an impressive £70,000 in a record breaking fundraising day for city charity Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF).

The Big Yellow Friday in March saw more than 200 events take place, with companies and schools holding Wear Something Yellow Days, city centre coffee and sandwich shops asking customers to give change and the lights on the Council House and the Fort Dunlop building turning yellow.

Charity chief executive Catherine Arkley said: “Our fifth annual Big Yellow Friday has been our biggest and best to date.”
