Birmingham PR agency Golley Slater has topped the annual regional league tables drawn up by industry magazine PRWeek.
The agency, based in Cardiff and with a significant presence in the West Midlands, heads the league table for those agencies outside the M25, and is 15th in the overall tables.
Acquisition helped boost growth by 63 per cent to £4.3 million, and helped the firm to fifth place in the league of the fastestgrowing agencies in the country.
Among the single-office agencies, Sutton Coldfield's Haslimann Taylor is placed 62nd in the national tables, and 11th outside London with a 16 per cent growth in fee income last year to £1.6 million.
The company was ranked third in the UK in a separate table, which measured growth in fee income over the last five years, with an impressive 237 per cent. Golley Slater is fifth in that table.
The tables always have to be viewed with the caveat that the firms have to submit entries, and few of the major international groups bother, or qualify.
So once again McCann-Erickson in Solihull fails to feature, when it would surely be among the big boys.
In general, comparisons with previous years are absent, because not everyone enters every year, though Haslimann Taylor is one which has.
And HT points out that this is its highest ever placing.
Bron Eames, managing director of Haslimann Taylor, said: " We are delighted to have maintained our position at the forefront the PR industry in the Midlands.
"It is always nice to receive recognition of the hard work put in by all at Haslimann Taylor and points to the great relationships we have with our clients."
