Specialist education company Lean Education and Development is swinging into action for charity with a call for teams to enter a golf tournament.

The inaugural Acorns Open Golf Tournament, being held on October 22 at Forest of Arden Country Club, is aiming to raise an impressive £45,000 for Midlands-based charity Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Golfers will enjoy a round on the popular course before relaxing into the evening with fine dining and an auction of great prizes including box tickets for Premiership football, Silverstone Track Day experience and afternoon tea at the Ritz.

Phil Walters, managing director of LEAD, based in Hagley near Stourbridge, said: “The costs for each golfer’s round and dinner on the evening are being underwritten so that all entry fees and monies raised through sponsorship and on the day activities will go direct to Acorns.

“It really is a wonderful charity that provides a lifeline to many families with life-limited or life-threatened children across the Midlands and we want to make sure that the money goes where it is most needed.

“We’re now appealing for keen golfers to get a team together and enter for what will be a great day.”

LEAD are also seeking sponsors for holes and awards, as well as donations of auction prizes or promises. For further information, contact Helen Glover at Lead helenglover@leadlimited.co.uk or 01562 720 596.
