Black Country law firm George Green has presented local charity Black Country Foodbank with a cheque for £1,100.

The Black Country Foodbank was started in 2006 and has eight distribution centres across the region, but wants to open another two by the end of the year.

It aims to give three days of nutrionally-balanced food to people experiencing emotional or financial crises and has running costs totalling £2,000 per month.

The Foodbank was chosen as the George Green charity in July 2010 and the partners and staff have been fundraising ever since.
