Birmingham Forward, which represents the views of the city's business and professional services sector, has appointed four new directors.

Joining the board with immediate effect are Christine Abbott, university secretary of Birmingham City University, Nick Morgan, chief executive of Big Cat Group, Caroline Coates, a partner at law firm DWF and Jason Langford-Brown, group managing director of Lucid.

In addition to four new board members, the organisation has also appointed a number of senior figures from business to act as ambassadors. In addition to promoting the organisation across the UK and overseas, ambassadors will work with the board on developing and delivering key policies and initiatives.

Chair of Birmingham Forward Gary Cardin said: "I am delighted to welcome our four new board members. The diversity and depth of experience our new directors bring will further strengthen our ability to influence the development of the city.

"Clearly with economic challenges still impacting on every market, the city facing a grave crisis when it comes to ensuring we are skilling our workforce effectively and the exciting infrastructure projects in train to positively move our city forward we need to make sure as an organisation we are at the heart of the city's conversation. The appointment of our new directors and the addition of ambassadors will significantly contribute to us doing that effectively."
