More than 100 team members from TGI Friday’s restaurants across the country descended on the West Midlands to raise £1,000 for two children’s charities.

The proceeds were raised at the sixth Cormac Cup – an annual football tournament set up in memory of TGI Friday’s employee Cormac Doyle who tragically died of a heart attack in 2005.

Cormac worked in several TGI Friday’s across the Midlands including Birmingham and Coventry between 1989 and 2005.

Eleven teams took part in this year’s tournament, coming from as far afield as Glasgow and London.

The £1,000 total was a record for the event. This year’s proceeds will be split between Birmingham Children’s Hospital and The Shree Manakamana Children’s Charity in Nepal.
