Low-cost airline flybe has been voted the most popular UK domestic and France-bound airline in a Holiday Which? airline survey.

When asked which airlines readers would recommend to their friends, flybe was voted top in both domestic (49 per cent) and France-bound categories (60 per cent). The airline has launched a record number of new routes from the UK regions with flights operating from 19 airports.

It currently offers flights from Birmingham to Brest, Chambery, Perpignan and Toulouse in France and on March 28 will make its first flights from Birmingham to Bergerac and La Rochelle.

The company also offers flights from Birmingham to six domestic destinations including Belfast City, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Guernsey, the Isle of Man and Jersey.

Flybe claims to be the largest scheduled airline at Birmingham, Exeter, Southampton, the Channel Islands, and Belfast City.

Mike Rutter, sales and marketing director, said: "We are delighted that we have come out so well in the Holiday Which? airline survey, both domestically and in our French routes.

"We are well on our way to delivering on our promise to become the backbone of UK travel. This recognition is testimony not only to the growing strength of the flybe brand but also to our 1,600 employees."
