Yorkshire bank’s financial presence in Warwickshire is set to double after two years of growth.

The bank’s financial solutions centre (FSC) at the Ricoh Arena – home of Coventry City FC – is doubling its floorspace not long after being opened in 2006.

Work on the expansion, which will see the FSC occupy about 7,000 sq ft of high grade space at the £113 million complex, is expected to be completed next month.

Andy Ashton, managing partner at the centre, said the decision was taken against a background of solid growth.

“We were one of the first tenants at the Ricoh Arena and the decision to create a Financial Solutions Centre here has proved be the right one,” he said. “We have added to our team – which numbers 30 – and have grown the areas of expertise. Yorkshire Bank’s philosophy is based around connecting with people and we feel we have really become an integral part of the regional business community. Every pound deposited in this area is reinvested in this area, and I think that has proved key to our success.”

The offices will include a members’ lounge, complete with a relaxing area with plasma television screens.

There will be eight meeting rooms, including a conference facility for 16 with an overhead projector – the use of which is free of charge to Yorkshire Bank customers and contacts. Yorkshire Bank also sponsors a major conferencing and exhibition lounge at the Ricoh Arena.

David Penn, of commercial property agents Shortland Horne – property advisors to Ricoh – said the expansion underlined the versatility of the Ricoh.

“Yorkshire Bank was one of the first tenants,” he said.

“It also shows what an outstanding venue the Ricoh is for such a wide range of business and leisure tenants. Yorkshire Bank has created some of the most stunning commercial space in the city and it is great that it has paid off so well.”
