Wesleyan’s apprenticeship scheme has seen another 12 new trainees starting work at the financial mutual’s Birmingham head office.
The scheme is now in its fifth year and provides an alternative route for people to enter the financial services sector. The apprentices will be working across a range of departments including marketing, corporate audit and HR.
Wesleyan chief executive Craig Errington said: “We have always prided ourselves on developing our own talent and the apprenticeship scheme is now an integral part of that. Since the first apprentices joined us five years ago each group have grown in their roles and been promoted to new positions right across the company. Last year one of them was even recognised as a top performer in the business.
“Everyone has been delighted with the quality of apprentices who have joined Wesleyan and having met this latest intake I am sure they will continue to impress their new colleagues with their talent and enthusiasm.”
Wesleyan apprentices work full time while progressing towards an NVQ Level 2, with support from Birmingham Metropolitan College. Since 2010, 46 apprentices have joined Wesleyan, with most taking up permanent jobs.
