Chartered accountancy firm Dains has announced the appointment of three partners by promotion.

Phil Luty, Phil Pellegrini and Steve Rogers, all from different areas of the business, take the partner count of the Birmingham-based firm to 16.

Mr Luty joined the firm in 2009 as director of indirect tax and has experience in all sectors of VAT and particular knowledge of the automotive industry and his client portfolio includes some of the major manufacturers and their associated retail distribution and finance companies.

He is a representative on a number of trade bodies and has been involved in some high profile VAT cases and industry led negotiations with HMRC regarding VAT policy.

Mr Pellegrini has trained with Dains since joining the firm in 1988 and is both a qualified chartered tax adviser and trust and estate practitioner. As head of the private client division he works closely with high net-worth individuals helping them to put structures in place to provide immediate tax benefits whilst facilitating long term protection of family wealth.

Mr Rogers also joined Dains in 1988 and has over 20 years experience in the profession.

He oversees a large client portfolio and specialises in assisting owner managed and growing businesses in a broad range of industry sectors with accountancy and tax compliance services.

Dains chief executive Spencer Wright said: “I am delighted to announce these promotions which are a reflection of both the calibre of the individuals concerned and the growth we are experiencing.

“These individuals have already made significant contributions to the firm and have a deep understanding of the markets, sectors and issues that are so important to the clients we work with.”
