key expertise

A Redditch-based learning and development company is exporting its expertise to the Gulf.

Righttrack Consultancy, of Brockhill Lane, provides a range of bespoke in-company training programmes, covering topics such as management, sales and customer service.

Established in 1988, the company has ten employees and a pool of more than 70 consultants and trainers.

In 2006, Righttrack, which was already exporting to Kuwait, expanded its business within this market and beyond. With support from UK Trade & Investment, the company has won high-profile contracts in Kuwait and recently secured its first contract in Bahrain with one of the kingdom’s leading organisations. The total value of the business in the Gulf is at least £400,000 – 40 per cent of the company’s projected £1m annual turnover for 2008.

Business development and marketing manager Chris Banting said: “The new business in the Middle East has helped us increase our turnover by 30 per cent, which we are very proud of, especially in the tough global economic climate. We have been working very closely with our international trade adviser, Helen Bethell, to develop our export business.

“Thanks to Helen’s hard work and UK Trade & Investment support such as the Overseas Market Introduction Service (OMIS) and the Passport scheme for new or novice exporters, we’ve substantially increased our business in Kuwait and broken into the Bahrain market.

“The OMIS scheme has helped us fully understand the markets we’re entering and put us in touch with some of the best contacts in the industry. By this time next year we plan to have expanded our international operations so that Righttrack has a presence in at least six countries. I recommend UK Trade & Investment wholeheartedly and thank them for all their hard work in helping to make Righttrack an international success.”

The team at Righttrack are scheduled to join in a UK Trade & Investment market visit to India in February.

Helen Bethell, based at Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, said: “It’s a pleasure to work with the team at Righttrack. Their strategic use of UK Trade & Investment’s services has brought them well-deserved success in the Gulf. We look forward to continuing to work with them as they expand into new markets.”
