Droitwich accountancy firm Ballard Dale Syree Watson has announced the appointment of four new recruits.

Four graduates have joined the thriving practice as audit and accounts trainees with a view to qualifying as ACAs (Associated Chartered Accountant).

Adding an extra dimension to Ballards 45 strong team is 22-year-old Sophie Hanks. Miss Hanks lives in Northfield, Birmingham, and attended Colmers School and Sports College. She then went on to study for a degree in Dance at De Montfort University.

Also joining the team is David Hewett, aged 26, who gained a PhD in Chemistry at Birmingham University. Dr Hewett lives in Bromsgrove but grew up and attended school in King’s Norton.

The new appointments form part of Ballards’ strategic growth plans.

Business development director Steven Jones, who is responsible for recruitment, said: “We have been working hard to attract graduates from a variety of disciplines and skills sets because basically the traditional role of the ‘accountant’ has changed and is constantly evolving.

“Our work is so much more about helping our clients to grow and market their businesses, and creativity, insight, analytical and communication skills are just as important as being good with numbers.”

Ballards are also pleased to welcome Oliver Jeacock who is 22 and lives in West Heath, Birmingham. He attended the Royal Latin School in Buckingham and recently moved to the Midlands after completing his higher education. Mr Jeacock graduated in Chemistry at Birmingham University.

Chemistry graduate Rebecca Vickers also joins Ballards as an audit and accounts trainee. Miss Vickers studied for her A-Levels at Worcester Royal Grammar School before she attained her degree at Birmingham University.
