Administrators from BDO Stoy Hayward have taken Freshway Foods in Wolverhampton out of administration by successfully selling the firm to Freshway Chilled Foods.
Jo Wright and Kim Rayment, business restructuring partners at BDO Stoy Hayward, were appointed joint administrators of the business, which manufactures sandwiches and sandwich fillings, on March 18.
They secured a going concern sale – a move which included the transfer of 255 jobs.
Jo Wright, joint administrator and partner at BDO Stoy Hayward, said: “The sale of Freshway Foods Limited to Freshway Chilled Foods Limited is great news for the region as it protects over 200 jobs, as well as ensuring continuity of a very well-regarded Wolverhampton business.”
