Clearwater Corporate Finance has strengthened its Birmingham office with the appointment of manager Al-Munther Sultan.

The acquisition finance expert arrives at Clearwater from Yorkshire Bank’s corporate and structured team in Birmingham.

He led a number of key deals including the £7.2 million management buy-out of Manchester-based energy management system provider, Vickers Electronics, in July 2011.

Elsewhere, Dom Clarke joined Clearwater’s Manchester office from the technology company Promethean.

Phil Burns, managing partner at Clearwater in Birmingham, said: “This past year has been increasingly busy, with all of our teams actively involved in high profile transactions. The appointments will support the teams as they continue to go from strength to strength. We take great pride in supporting the development of our people and investing in their future to create an excellent team with experience and depth.”

Al-Munther Sultan said: “I am looking forward to starting the next chapter in my career at such a prestigious firm. I was drawn to Clearwater by its reputation for leading some of the largest deals and acquisitions, but also the opportunity to specialise within sectors.”

The appointments came after Gareth Iley was made a partner in the Birmingham office.
