A Midland GP surgery has moved and expanded using a £2.7 million funding package.

The former Berwyn House Surgery in Worcester has relocated to a new 1,350 square metre premises in the town to become Barbourne Health Centre using £2.7 million of funding from Lloyds TSB Commercial.

The new medical centre employs 22 staff and another 40 work on the site in a pharmacy, physiotherapy clinic, counselling and psychotherapy service and cosmetic surgery clinic.

Dr Charles Harris, director at Barbourne Health Centre, said: “The expansion of the health centre allows us to accommodate and help a greater number of patients.

“We have nearly 10,000 patients already registered at the new centre and we hope to continue to grow this number.”
