Black Country Chamber of Commerce has appointed a new chief executive.

Keith Bryan is an accountant by trade and spent many years with Tarmac Group where he eventually became managing director and a member of the Tarmac Group executive committee.

Since leaving Tarmac, he has been non-executive director and vice-chairman at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton from 2005 to 2012 where he was chairman of several committees and spent two spells as chairman.

He said: "This is an exciting time for the chamber and I am delighted to be a part of this journey moving forward.

"The chamber is an excellent business support organisation that helps local Black Country businesses to succeed and this is something I am keen to promote."

Chamber president Ninder Johal added: "I am excited for this change at the chamber and to have such a figure spearheading this new chapter.

"Keith has a wealth of experience and knowledge to bring to his new role.

"As I enter the last few months of my presidency, I am encouraged that I will hand over the role with the chamber in a strong position."
