The Birmingham office of Deloitte has appointed a director to its Midland corporate finance team.

Nick Gillott, who began his career at Deloitte, returns to join a 14-strong team led by corporate finance partner Darren Boocock.

The team, which works across the West and East Midlands, is part of a company-wide strategy to develop specialist practices in the regions. Other recent appointments include Ben Cartwright as assistant manager and Dips Basi as senior associate.

Mr Boocock said: “Deloitte is committed to investing in its M&A capability here in the Midlands and our recent expansion makes us one of the leading dedicated corporate finance teams in the region.

“I am delighted to have secured Nick and welcome him back to Deloitte.

“He is already a well known and highly regarded member of the Midlands M&A community, and alongside our colleagues in the local private equity houses, banks and legal firms we will continue to do our utmost to ensure the Midlands remains a great place to do deals.”

Mr Gillott added: “I am delighted to be rejoining the team at Deloitte and look forward to working with the rest of the Midlands corporate finance community to support the overall growth and success of the region.

“In addition to my core focus on the Midlands, I am looking forward to complementing Deloitte’s national transport and logistics capability, drawing on my experience in this sector to provide advice to our clients.”
