Clearwater Corporate Finance, which has a Birmingham office on Colmore Row, has been shortlisted for a prestigious dealmaking award.

The firm is one of six in the running for the title of Corporate Financier of the Year in the British Private Equity Awards 2008.

Now in their fourth year, the awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the private equity sector and are run by Unquote magazine.

The shortlist was selected through a vote by readers. Clearwater’s West Midlands office has a focus on private equity transactions and mergers and acquisitions.

The award winners will be announced at the awards dinner in London on November 27 and chosen by a judging panel made up of leading figures from the private equity world.

They include Simon Walker, chief executive of the British Venture Capital Association, John Holloway, director of the European Investment fund, and Unquote editor-in-chief Kimberly Romaine.

The latest nomination comes less than a month after IMAP Europe, of which Clearwater is a member, was shortlisted for top financial adviser in Europe in the European Private Equity Awards. The winner of this award will also will be announced in November.
