The Solihull-based Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) has launched an interactive online payslip tool. The aim of the tool is to educate the UK workforce in fully understanding everything on their payslip. The interactive tool explains the different elements and deductions on a payslip and is accessible through various devices, including smart phones.
Lindsay Melvin , chief executive of the CIPP, said: “Payroll and HR professionals are encouraged to utilise this tool to communicate with their organisation’s employees and educate staff on the various information found on their payslip. We hope that this in turn will provide individuals with a better understanding of what their payslip means and reduce enquiries which come into the payroll department.
“On top of that, the CIPP is fully committed to helping educate the UK’s workforce in completely understanding everything on their payslip. We believe that it is vital that employees place the onus on themselves to double-check their payslip so that they can be confident they are getting paid correctly. Error rates are very low but knowing and understanding all the details on their payslip will help to identify mistakes or miscalculations.”
