UK firms will be looking to increase sales and form new partnerships with overseas buyers at this year's Environmental Technologies trade exhibition, part of Sustainabilitylive! 2007.

UK Trade and Investment will be organising one-to-one meetings at the event with UK suppliers and delegates from some of the world's fastest growing environmental technology markets.

The 'Meet the Buyer' event takes place on May 2 at the NEC.

It offers UK companies in the environment sector the chance to promote their products to delegates from China, Taiwan, Portugal, Malaysia, the Philippines, Romania, Thailand, Saudi Arabia and Brazil.

Jim Coulson, managing director of Microbac, attended Meet the Buyer last year.  He said: "I was able to meet commercial and technical representatives from environmental companies in China, Colombia, Ecuador, Estonia, Kuwait, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Saudi Arabia and Taiwan in a single day.

"These valuable one-to-one discussions have subsequently produced an agency agreement and several continued dialogues with potential clients and agents for our waste water treatment plants and bioremediation technology. I found the day thoroughly rewarding."

Companies interested in taking part in the Meet the Buyer event, or finding out more about the international delegates, should visit www.meetthebuyer2007.co.uk.

Overseas buyers will have a particular interest in contaminated land remediation, air pollution, environmental training, renewable energy, waste water treatment and waste management.

Export advisers from UK Trade & Investment will also be available through the full three days of the show to provide advice and support on international expansion.
