Accountancy student Rebecca Paterson, of Birmingham, is celebrating after getting the highest score in the world for the advanced taxation paper of the ACCA Qualification in the latest exam sitting. The paper was taken by 3,661 students globally.
Ms Paterson, who is a senior analyst in accounting separation at Ofwat, said: “I am really pleased to have done so well. I did not expect this as I returned to study five years after leaving university. Juggling a full-time job made it very challenging – not to mention the sheer size and depth of the courses.”
Wyn Mears, director of ACCA UK, said: “It is to Rebecca’s credit that she has done so well in these exams. The papers within the ACCA Qualification are very challenging and to have come top in such a competitive environment is exceptional.”
