Baker Tilly has bolstered its corporate finance team with the appointment of Sukhi Johal as associate director, as the firm continues to experience increasing demand in the region.

Ms Johal has previously worked within the corporate finance team of Baker Tilly for a number of years, and after a stint away she has returned to the firm.

Initially joining HBoS from Baker Tilly in 2005, she spent two years working on transactions in the mid market corporate and PLC sectors.

In August 2007 she joined the corporate and structured finance team of the Icelandic investment bank, Kaupthing, and most recently worked at Royal Bank of Scotland within the global restructuring team.

This latest role saw her advising a wide ranging portfolio of businesses, which had fallen outside the bank’s normal lending criteria, on options such as accelerated sales, re-financing, restructuring and exits.

In the new role, she will be charged with developing the firm’s undertaking of lead advisory work for owner managed and large corporate businesses.

Ms Johal said: “I am delighted to have returned to Baker Tilly and to have the opportunity to use the skills and expertise I have gained, across a diverse range of transactions the firm advises on”.
