Birmingham's burgeoning creative industry sector will be feeling supersonic next week.

The SuperSonic Festival, one of the main events for DJs and fans of electronic music and contemporary art, will take place at the Custard Factory in Digbeth on July 8 and 9.

It is funded by Business Link Birmingham and Solihull's Creative Industries programme and organised by Capsule, the driving force behind the UK's most cutting edge music events.

Now in its third year, SuperSonic has built up a cult following in the electronic music scene and has now been compared to the Sonar Festival as the leading event of its kind in Europe.

Over the two days there will be a mixture of live performances, art installations by Turner Prize winner Martin Creed, films, videos, record stalls and even karaoke.
