Fundraisers who have ensured St Basil's continues its work with young people facing homelessness across the city are being thanked at a special dinner.

An Indian feast is being prepared at The Purple Rooms, with the compliments of owner Faizur Choudhury MBE, for around 70 star fundraisers who have supported the charity.

Blair Kesseler of St Basil's said: "Special invitations have gone out to all the wonderful people who responded to our pleas, to come to what is really a big thank you. We are really grateful to Mr Choudhury whose donation is valued at around #2,000.

"So far there has been a brilliant response rate and all 70 seats have been taken."

The diners will include some of the 570 people who took part in the latest St Basil's walking challenge in Shropshire, including George Wimpey, BHSF, BDO Stoy Hayward, Family Housing, Ernst & Young, Gateley Wareing and Land Rover.

Some of the 360 people who took part in the annual sleep out and representatives from Jaffa Box and Beaucrest for supplying free cardboard each year will also be attending along with supporters from Cadbury's.

Other supporters include Driver Jonas for their online auction of promises at Christmas raising #3,000, Legal and General for #3,000 for training of the charity's Youth Advisory Board and Heart FM their First Steps appeal that raised #16,500 for a children's soft play conservatory.
