Kimal, the West Midlands provider of healthcare solutions to the UK and a major player in the global healthcare market, has launched a webbased fast-track ordering system, designed to further enhance its service to customers.

'Optimum Fast Track' has been created to speed up the ordering process of its highly popular customised procedure pack range, by making many of its best selling core products available for selection via its extranet. The new system is expected to result in a 30 per cent reduction in delivery times.

Initially available on its angio range of customised procedure packs, serving the cardio and radiology markets, Kimal intends to roll out the service over the next few months to include permanent pacing, central venous line placement, biopsy and dialysis catheter placement.

Alan Press, managing director of Kimal, said: "This really is a very exciting development which we believe will provide significant customer service benefits.

"No other company in the healthcare solutions sector is able to provide such a quick and easy web-based service and I believe this underlines our commitment to be the number one provider of customised procedure packs in Europe."

Optimum Fast Track has been developed as a result of working closely with Kimal's customers, suppliers and distributors.

While Kimal supplies thousands of different product lines, it was able to identify that 80 per cent of its items are main core products which are regularly in demand. Traditionally, customers placing a new order for customised procedure packs would make their selections via a paperbased ordering system. Now these products will be available in the Fast Track catalogue and can be selected via the extranet, resulting in an eight week turnaround, from the time the order is placed to receipt of delivery.

Kimal recently unveiled its new improved website which has been fully translated into both French and German.

Last year the company was additionally recognised for its dedication to customer services when it was presented with a special award by international industry consultants, Frost & Sullivan.

Kimal, which last year also celebrated 40 years of business excellence, has a dedicated international division and is the market leader in fifteen countries, including the UK, Scandinavia and the Middle East.

The company's strong international ties are matched by its commitment to the provision of a first class service to the UK healthcare community, employing almost 300 dedicated staff at Uxbridge and at three purpose-built sites in the West Midlands and Cheshire.
