Wolverhampton- based electronic document management company EDM has become the first in the UK to invest in high-tech scanning equipment from the US in a £ 500,000 investment which will enable it to provide increased capacity electronic document management.
Two ImageTrac IV scanners will enable the company to offer its clients a competitive and superior electronic document management service which can process up to 330 documents per minute.
The ImageTrac IV scanners have the capacity to scan documents in a format automatically tailored to the specific requirements of each individual client and are four to five times faster than document scanners currently used by other electronic document management companies.
EDM operations director Karl Jacobie said: "As soon as we found out this technology was available we were determined to get hold of it to improve our service to clients.
"This investment means that we are providing our clients with the most efficient and cost-effective electronic document management service available on the market."
Ashley Keil, business development manager UK for Imaging Business Machines, which supplied the machines, added: "The ImageTrac IV scanner increases performance by automatically recognising document profile and captures accordingly by reconfiguring elements such as the motor speed and image format for each individual client's documents in addition to maintaining integrity by sorting documents into multiple output pockets."
