Recruitment specialist Extra Personnel has won a four-year contract to supply administrative, clerical and secretarial temporary staff to Birmingham City Council.

The agency, which has a Walsall head office and 20 branches across the Midlands and the North West, has secured the contract for its Office division following its success over the last three years as a preferred supplier.

It already has up to 300 temporary staff employed across all divisions of the council in posts such as customer services, secretaries, post room assistants and clerical officers.

Kay Davenport and Rachel Doherty, account managers for Extra Personnel based at the company's Birmingham branch hailed the deal.

Ms Davenport said: "We were awarded a three year contract in 2002 to supply temporary secretarial, clerical and administrative staff at all levels across all council departments citywide. We are thrilled to have been selected once again along with three other suppliers for a further four years.

"The feedback we have had from the council has been extremely positive.

"This is a very prestigious contract and the team in Birmingham are now looking forward to continuing their relationship with the council."
