A former Ford executive has been appointed by Birmingham van maker LDV to oversee its purchasing operations and improve the business.
Keith Stanton has joined the firm, which has been buoyed this year by the successful launch of the new Maxus van.
The 44-year-old was formerly plant director at Ford's Transit factory in Southampton, and was credited with increasing production there by 30 per cent last year.
In his new role Mr Stanton will become a member of the board of directors and be responsible for all aspects of LDV purchasing, including the implementation of business and process improvement programmes in all areas of the company.
He said: "This is a fantastic time to be joining LDV. I'll be bringing the experience I gained at Ford to contribute to the company's success as it launches new models in the coming months and years."
LDV chief executive Allan Amey, said: "LDV continues to make its mark in the industry, producing products built for professionals by professionals.
