The name of a 30-year-old cooler operation has been saved with the launch of a new Midlands company.

Occo Coolers (Telford) has been set up by two former employees of Occo Coolers, which went into voluntary liquidation.

Robert Withington, former works manager and Allan Cunningham, formerly sales engineer, are the driving force.

The business provides radiators and air blast water and oil coolers for the automotive and hydraulics industries.

Occo Coolers was based in Dawley, Telford, and was put into voluntary liquidation this summer after 30 years in business. Occo Coolers (Telford) secured the assets of the company and the intellectual rights to manufacture the Occo range.

Mr Withington, who was with the original company for 30 years, is works director while Mr Cunningham has the sales director's role.

The business hopes to up its staffing levels to three shortly, and Mr Cunningham said he expects it to have a turnover of £300,000 in its first year.

The business has stayed near to its roots, moving to new premises at St George's Road Industrial Estate in Donnington, Telford.

Occo Coolers (Telford) received the backing of two companies that supply it components - Excalibur Engineering from Ketley, Telford, and radiator manufacturer Alutec from Cannock.
