John Edwards has been reap-pointed as chief executive of regional development agency Advantage West Midlands for another year.

Mr Edwards has been with the organisation since 1999 and has held the top position since 2000.

Nick Paul, AWM chairman, said: "I am delighted that John will continue to lead Advantage West Midlands in what I am sure will be another highly successful year.

"Under his stewardship, the organisation has achieved a huge amount - 100,000 jobs have been created or safeguarded, 40,000 businesses have been helped to start-up or grow, 17,600 jobs created and safeguarded through inward investment and 23,628 people have been assisted in their skills development."

Major projects had been delivered across the region including Ricoh Arena, East-side, Fort Dunlop and i54.
