The CBI has " transformed" its flagship annual conference, claims director general Sir Digby Jones.

Unveiling the programme for the event, which takes place in London, he said: "With the help of companies large and small from across the country, we have totally transformed the CBI's flagship conference.

"They told us to 'move it to London' to 'create a more lively and dynamic experience', and to ' arrange it so that they could drop in for a few hours and go back to work'.

"We have done it all and have put together a cracking programme.

" At the Business Design Centre in Islington on November 28 and 29 the CBI Interactive Conference will take centre stage.

"Together with headline sponsors Deloitte and Harvey Nash and event partners Alba, BA, BT, BMW, Cadbury, Diageo, Fairline, Proctor & Gamble and Siemens, we shall create a showcase for some of today's most successful global companies."

He added: " International business will also be well represented on stage with keynote speeches from Jean-Pierre Garnier, chief executive of Glaxo-SmithKline, Carlos Ghosn, chief executive of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, and Michael Jordan, chairman and chief executive of EDS.
