Lawyers at DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary in Birmingham acted for the management of LS Group of Nottingham which has been acquired by quoted company SIG in a deal worth an initial £45.3 million.

LS Group is the UK's leading door firm. It operates from Langley Mill, Nottingham, Barnstaple and Sheffield and employs 560 people. Founded in the early 1950s Sheffieldbased SIG supplies insulation, roofing and commercial interior products with more than 400 trading locations.

SIG chief executive David Williams said: "LS provides an important extension to our existing commercial interiors product range. It concentrates on the growth market of specialist door sets, especially where fire, acoustic and high security performance requirements exist."

Partner John Campion and associate Carol Clarke of DLA Piper in Birmingham advised the management of LS Group having acted for them on the original buy out in 1999 from Whitecroft and on a number of subsequent acquisitions and a refinancing.

Olswang acted for Graphite Capital Partners, the institutional shareholder, and Pinsents Masons in Leeds acted for SIG plc.
