The Institute of Directors has announced the shortlist of names that will be battling it out for the title of Young Director of the Year in the Midlands.

The awards are to be presented at The Great Hall of the University of Birmingham, on November 2,

Peter Rees-Steer, chairman of the IoD Young Directors' Forum which organises the competition, said: "This is the third year we have run the Young Director of the Year awards and once again the standard keeps rising.

"This is our way of acknowledging the importance of tomorrow's business leaders."

Short listed for the Small Business Award are Paul McCormick of GCA UK, Luke Verrall of Newtown Packaging and Suzie Walker of Catalyst Associates,

Up for the Medium Business Award are Bridget Doyle, MarketTel, Mohammed Iqbal, Tile Giant and Jeremy Wetherall, Sleaford Quality Foods.

And in the Large Business category the shortlisted final-ists are Mike Osborne of ICM Business Continuity Services, Adrian Fawcett of Punch Taverns and Steve Jagger of Woldmarsh Producers.

The awards are supported by Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets and Advantage West Midlands.
