Small businesses in Birmingham are set to benefit from an insight in flexible, mobile working as well as getting a helping hand with 21st century technology - courtesy of mobile phone network Orange.
Special sessions are being arranged to help small enterprises get to grips with modern technology to see how they can make their businesses more efficient and at the same time keep up to date with the needs of their customers.
The sessions, taking place at the Orange Studio on Cannon Street on Thursday evenings, will have hands-on demonstrations of the latest products and as well as explanations of the numerous services that are there to help small businesses improve their productivity.
The idea for the "Mobile Surgery" evenings came as the result of a number of requests from customers who did not have the time to investigate the opportunities.
Elly Briggs, Orange's small business manager in Birmingham is piloting the evenings. "Everyone wants to save time - and money - in everyday life, small businesses are no different," said Elly.
"But running a business does not always give you all the time you would like to understand how things work or how to get the best out of what you have got, the point of these seminars is to take the pain out of that learning process and demonstrate the power of the technology that they literally have in their hands.
"We know from the queries we have had from our customers that they are frustrated that they cannot always do all the things they would like, and we have a lot of 'if only I could do this' or 'I wish I could do that' comments.
"Well nine times out of ten they can, it's just a case of learning how. And that's what we are setting out to do in these evening sessions - and don't worry you won't need to be a rocket scientist to see how we will be able to help you.
"We will show you how we can help maximise the use of text messages to mobile email which can have a dramatic effect on your businesses.
"And instead of just talking the talk, we can show how we can walk the walk with selected case studies from businesses we have worked with in the past, and how we have been able to help them really tap in to the power of mobile technology," continued Elly.
The Surgery will launch this Thursdayat 5.30pm and run through until 7.30pm. n To book a place or to get more information, contact Elly Briggs on 07976 594 058.
