A programme which aims to provide science, engineering, technology, and high-growth companies with the tools that they need to develop and to raise investment is searching for the brightest stars in the West Midlands.

The Connect InvoRed (Investment Readiness) programme, run by Connect Midlands on behalf of Advantage West Midlands and Business Link, is delivered through a range of workshops where delegates learn how to create a winning business proposition and how to prepare for that all important investment deal. To date, it has already helped companies raise over £26million in funding in the West Midlands alone.

Richard Comer, regional manager for the Connect InvoRed programme, said: “There are two levels of support available within the InvoRed programme. The Amber stream is for entrepreneurs with a germ of an idea seeking their first round of company funding and the Green stream, which is one-to-one coaching for more experienced entrepreneurs or businesses that typically have a business model and a management team in place.”

Connect Midlands uses experienced coaches and industry specialists to help deliver the programme of workshops. The first event is the Right Funds for You workshop, on February 5 at the Hilton Hotel in Coventry, which will investigate the range of funding options available to businesses.

Following this there will be a wide range of events throughout 2009 at various locations across the region with events already confirmed at venues in Bromsgrove, Telford, Stafford, Lichfield, Birmingham, Warwick and Stoke.

Companies developing strong propositions through the programme may also be selected to present at exclusive investment raising platforms.
