A customer services firm is taking on 500 new home-based workers in Birmingham as part of expansion plans.

Arise Virtual Solutions wants to take on the new staff this year after winning deals with established firms.

The firm has contracts with Interval Leisure Group and Shop Direct Group, which includes the Great Universal and Littlewoods brands, to provide call centre services.

Its home-based solution allows its professionals to answer calls and emails on behalf of clients from home, and choose their own working hours.

Arise’s vice-president John Riordan said: “We couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity.

“We may be in recessionary times but Arise UK represents a business that is not only building a new market model but one which will add 1,000 new home-based businesses to the UK economy.”
