A Midland communications agency is behind toy-maker Hornby’s six new TV ads to support its iconic Hornby and Scalextric brands’ new campaign.

The ads have been devised by Hornby’s agency of seven years, WAA, and will air as a part of the firm’s £1 million half-term and Christmas TV campaign.

The adverts were written and directed by WAA’s creative director Henry Becket and will be online as well as on national TV from the end of October until Christmas.

The adverts feature the new Scalextric Digital range and Street Sliderz – which features Lamborghini Gallardo cars fitted with a unique guide blade system that allows 360 degree turns as well as skids and slides.

Scalextric marketing manager Paul Chandler said: “WAA’s new ads for the Scalextric brand really project the energy and excitement of the cars as well as the advanced technology of the products, such as drifting and digital lane changing.”

WAA creative director Henry Becket said: “We’ve worked closely with Scalextric to deliver a series of inventive and highly contemporary commercials which reinforce the high quality and originality for which the brand is known.
